Credit Risk Management (CRM) evaluates credit risk transactions and approves rejects or modifies them considering the availability and appropriateness of arrangements for reducing risk or risk mitigation. The department also assigns Internal Credit Ratings; establishes and manages credit risk limits in accordance with the risk tolerance established by the Board; monitors and reports on credit risk exposures on a regular basis to the Chief Risk Officer and senior management. CRM also interacts with business units to ensure that credit risk assessments are factored into business decisions.

Primary Responsibilities

This is a role within the Corporate / Commodities coverage team in New York, which is responsible for the credit assessment and risk management of the Firms corporate derivatives and trading portfolio. Diversified set of counterparties across all industries including but not limited to oil & gas producers, utilities, independent power producers, renewables, metals and mining.

The role includes the following primary responsibilities:

Review new trade requests from business / origination teams and understand credit exposure impact, tenor details, structure etc.

Liaise with credit officers / team leads covering the individual credit to discuss credit appetite, bespoke terms within the document etc.

Ability to perform counterparty credit analysis for new clients.

Negotiate documents with counsel and counterparties to incorporate relevant credit terms. Familiarity with trading documents including ISDAs, CSAs, NAESBs, EEIs, etc preferred.

Discuss / socialize transaction with multiple internal groups and present for credit approvals.

Assist in preparing portfolio reports to communicate limit usage / excesses, changes in ratings, LGD and appetite to Business.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to review financial statements and perform credit analysis.

Hard working, team player, self-starter with a desire and willingness to learn, attention to detail, and problem solving skills

Comfortable communicating and conveying results and ideas, both written and verbal, to peers and senior managers

Familiarity with derivative products covering FX, Rates etc.

Experience:

Bachelors degree in Finance or Economics

3-5 years experience in Credit Risk Management
