You will:

Partner with and support the Institutional Equities Division Global Product Controllers (IED GPC), to ensure there is an adequate control environment in place: understand business activities; design and perform control reviews; identify and respond to emerging risk areas and consider ISGF impact

Know how to assess and connect current processes, to the right controls and/or remediation

Liaise with Controllers and Risk Management globally on risk matters pertinent to Equities Product Control and represent IED GPC at various risk forums

Work with the Global Finance Risk Leads of each Business to perform annual control and risk assessments e.g. SOX & RCSA

Review and present monthly Finance risk metrics to IED Product Control management

Work with representatives from other global functions to ensure consistency of approach in understanding business activities, new rules and risk impact

Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders including BU Risk, Internal and External Auditors, Operational Risk and Senior Finance Management

Be able to respond to queries timely and accurately

Present and articulate findings at the appropriate level of detail to the desired audience

Support other related ad-hoc analysis requests/projects for senior finance and business management e.g. CCAO Review & Currency Management Controls Working Group

Team Profile: The IED Finance Risk team sits in the Equity Product Control Group. The Team works with global IED Finance and IED Business Units to track, maintain and report on the control environment within Product Control, partner with controllers on delivering solutions to identified risk issues, and implement projects and methodology changes related to risk and/or risk reviews. The Team is highly collaborative and its members are located in New York, London, Baltimore, Mumbai and Hong Kong.

Department Profile: The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm’s books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley’s various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley’s various businesses and its senior management team.
