Morgan Stanley Wealth Management provides a range of wealth management products and services for affluent individuals, businesses and institutions. These services include brokerage and investment advisory, financial and wealth planning, credit and lending, cash management, annuities and insurance, retirement and trust.

Position Summary

The Traditional Investment Products (TIPs) team is responsible for Product Development & Origination and Product Management for all traditional investment products offered on the wealth management platform including Domestic and Offshore Mutual Funds, ETFs, UITs, Closed End Funds, Money Markets, and 529 College Savings Plans.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong communication and problem solving skills who can support a team responsible for product development for two business lines: Closed End Funds (CEFs) and Unit Investment Trusts (UITs)/Thematic Baskets. The ideal candidate is team-oriented and analytical. The candidate will bring a knowledge of Wealth Management, has experience in managing multiple projects and can facilitate discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

Develop opportunities with asset managers, working closely with colleagues on sales and new issue desks, as well as in investment banking and global capital markets

Keep up to date with market developments, perform due diligence on products presented by asset managers,

Research potential investment ideas consistent with published research that can potentially resonate with investors

Proactively develop marketing campaigns that leverage the full scale of Morgan Stanley and asset manager partners to create impactful marketing materials/campaigns that drive product growth and penetration

Leverage data analytics to formulate strategic distribution plans to support sales, FA engagement, business development and expansion

Participate in the creation of proprietary thematic baskets based on published research, determining viability and scalability of ideas

Ongoing business reviews with partner asset management firms and internal stakeholders

Educate and support FAs in using CEFs and UITs/Thematic Baskets, as well as create and enhance FA desktop tools.




BS / BA degree with minimum of 2+ years of experience in financial services

Advanced proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Strong quantitative, analytical and data analysis / modelling skills

Excellent communication skills – verbal and written

Detail oriented with ability to multitask and maintain momentum on multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to think creatively and strategically

Motivated, action oriented self-starter with business ownership mentality

Strong organizational and presentation skills

Ability to work collaboratively

Commercially driven

Series 7 and Series 63 (or equivalent within 90 days of hire)
