PositionDirector of Data, Research, and Information

The Director of Data, Research, and Information is primarily responsible for designing research projects that capture data points used to drive child welfare advocacy, support agency service delivery, educate elected officials, and engage in research that informs governmental policies and practice. This position conducts needs analysis on emerging issues including but not limited to workforce development, compensation and turnover; the Director collects data to support member agencies’ goals in advancing best practices in child welfare and juvenile justice.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop an agenda, plan, and execute the agenda to support current research and information needs, both externally and internally, according to emerging needs of the field and of COFCCA members;
  • Collect, analyze, and disseminate data related to practice, policy, and regulatory issues at the NYC, NYS and Federal levels;
  • Develop and execute plans to disseminate information to COFCCA’s various constituencies and related stakeholders as appropriate;
  • Work closely with applicable staff to gather, analyze and disseminate system information related to service needs and planning at the local and State levels;
  • Function as internal resource to meet COFCCA’s emerging information and research needs;
  • Plan, implement, and analyze membership surveys, and disseminate results to members in a useful form;
  • Serve as contact for member inquiries and technical support on statistics, data, information, and trends in the field;
  • Scan, analyze, and summarize child welfare contracts, solicitations, and various government issued policies and legislation;
  • Organize and lead child welfare workgroups to evaluate, assess, and develop recommendations on tools used to examine agency performance, measure program outcomes, and appraise government program metrics;
  • Facilitate various committee meetings on agency compliance, quality assurance, and quality improvement tools and initiatives in the field of child welfare.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • 3-5 years experience in data analysis & statistics.
  • Experience in and knowledge of the child welfare and juvenile justice field strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with demonstrated experience conveying key messages in a clear, timely and succinct manner.
  • Strong analytical skills; demonstrated ability to collect, organize, analyze, and design reports.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistics.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • Masters degree preferred.

Compensation

Salary range: $80,000 – $90,000; we offer a competitive benefits package.
