At CMCS (Cardinal McCloskey Community Services), our mission is to protect, empower and promote independence for at-risk children and families and those with developmental disabilities through quality community based services.
The Sociotherapist, Supports foster parents to help children through emotionally challenging periods of extreme and troubling behavior and is capable of modeling appropriate responses and teaching strategies. Face-to-Face contacts with foster parents at least twice monthly and weekly with children assigned. Reviews and discusses the treatment plan/goals with foster parents and children. Revises treatment plans/goals as needed. Develops new goals as needed. Provides advice and consultation to foster parents regarding specific problems and strategies. Provides 24-hour on-call crisis intervention services through our on call rotation with other staff.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Social Work or human services field required
- 2 years of experience in the human services field
- Valid NYS Driver’s License essential.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish desirable
